YOUNG HORSEMAN INJURED.
COLLISION WITH MOTOR-VAN. LEG OF ANIMAL BROKEN. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHAKATANE, Saturday. A motor delivery van collided with • horse ridden by a youth named Stokes on the >Whakatane Bridge this afternoon. One of the horse's legs was broken and it had to be destroyed'. The rider was thrown and badly bruised. He was admitted to hospital, but it is expected that he will be discharged on Monday.
