TRAVELLERS' ASSOCIATION.
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION. GOOD WORK OF MEMBERS. "The commercial traveller is after all the man who delivers the.goods; he plays a veiy great part in upholding the prestige of the country," said Mr. Eliot Davis at the "Anniversary Day" gathering of the Auckland Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association last evening. Mr. Davis' who is vice-patron of the association, referred to the early history of the organisation and paid special tribute to the men vrho were responsible in forming the United Association 18 veal's ago. One of the foremost works of the tiavellers was the "clothes drive" which was held periodically. These drives reflected great credit on the association in particular and on the Dominion in general. The association also accomplished much good work which was not generally known. Many of the country hospitals had a great deal to thank the travellers for.
Mr. C. C. Bach., who presided, said that comradeship was the main object of tha association; the promotion of good feeling between the "men on the road" and tha warehousemen.
During the evening items wero rendered by the staff orchestra of Messrs. Sargood, Son and Evren, Limited. A number of vocal and elocutionary items were also given.
