MAN PLACED ON PROBATION
"TOOK MORE THAN COMMISSION"
" I think lie is deserving of a chance," said Mr. W. .T. Campbell, probation officer, in reference to Eric Donald Boss, aged 31, in the Police Court yesterday. Boss pleaded guilty to a charge of fraudulently failing to account for £4 15s, tho property of his employer, Gordon S. Bissett. Chief-Detectivo Hammond said that when tho offenco was committed the accused was employed in Wanganui by Bissett, who was editing a small publication. Boss had to do all the work and collected the advertisements. He was working on a commission basis and took more than his commission, failing to account foi £4 15s.
Mr. Aekins said that the company went into liquidation and money was owing to tho accused, who was a married man with a child.
Iho Chief Detective: He has been at the game before, Your Worship. Tho magistrate, Mr. I<\ K. Hunt, admitted tho accused to probation for twelvo months and directed that revtitution bo made, lie said it appeared "that Ross had been led into the business, but there was no money to pay him.
