SIR OTTO NIEMEYER.
Sir, Your sub-leader referring to t'no proposal to invite Sir Otto Niemeyer to New Zealand suggests a doubt if the Government would be influenced by him. It is obvious that the Australian Government has been so influenced, and we can only hope that ours would also be awakened to the necessity of following his advice. Although business and industry are staggering uiuLr burdens which cannot bo borne, the Government is doing nothing to economise. The warning and advice of an expert like Sir Otto Ni«mcyer might force Parliament to recognise the imperative need (to quote your leader), "of a comprehensive programme of economy, accompanied by drastic reduction of taxation."
