BANKRUPT STATIONER.
SYMPATHY OF CREDITORS. Tlio affairs of a wholesale stationer, Gordon Erie Preston, were investigated at a meeting of creditors hold before the official assignee, Mr. A. W. Watters, yesterday. Bankrupt owed £219 to unsecured creditors. The assets were estimated to produce £6B, leaving a deficiency of £lsl. In his statement, bankrupt said he commenced business with a capital of £SO and did .well for the first 12 months. This encouraged him to expand and he moved into larger premises, his overhead charges thus being greatly increased. There had been a good deal of sickness in his family durinp the past four years. "It seems that bankrupt has had difficulties and his debts "do not appear to be very substantial," said Mr. Watters. A motion giving the assignee power to realise on tho assets was passed.
