QUEEN CARNIVAL.
SUCCESS AT FRANKTON. SUM OF £750 REALISED. [by TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Friday. Tho queen carnival conducted by St. George's Church, Frankton, culminated last evening, when tho sncce-jsful candidate, Miss M. Nelson, representing Frankton West, was ceremoniously crowned in the Frankton Town Hall. 'The other candidates were Miss C. Buckland, sports queen; Miss J. Gilfillan, business queen; Miss M. Carpenter, country queen; and M iss A. Finlay, Forest Lake queen. As a result of tho carnival, which was organised by the Rev. R. J. Boyt, with tho object of reducing the parish debt, about £750 has be.en raised. From this amount a small sum in expenses has to bo deducted.
