PROTEST AT PROCEDURE. "The whole financial result of the Auckland Winter Exhibition lias been revealed by the general committee of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association, and I think it is a gross breach of etiquette on the committee's behalf to bring forth these, figures prior to their being dealt with by the joint committee of the winter show," said Mr. W. Fascoo, at a meeting of the council of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association yesterday. Mr. J. P. Kalaugher said the manufacturers had no business to publish any •reports of the winter show finances before they had been gone into by the joint committee. It was another instanco of the Manufacturers' Association wishing to show that it ran the winter show, whereas in reality it did not. Mr. 11. >S. W. King said the secretary of the Manufacturers' Association was in the hands of the committee, and he had evidently submitted a statement of the financial result, of the. show to a committee, the statement being subsequently published. 'Wo want the public to know the correct story," Mr. King said. " The. statement published was not authorised by the joint committee and thus has no value." Mr. VV. F. O'Donnell said the Manufacturers' Association was quite in order in discussing the show, but it had evidently omitted to take (ho figures in committee. "I do not think it intended to offend, arid wo should not attack the secretary personally," he said. On the motion of Mr. l'ascoe, it was decided to write to the Manufacturers' Association drawing its attention to the action of its general committee in reporting on the financial aspect of the winter show prior to the matter going before the. joint winter show committee.
