The discovery that there was an un * expended balance of unemployment relief work loans amounting to £40,000 was made at the same time as a recommendation was tabled at the City Council ing last evening, that, preparation be made to raise another £25.000 for uneniplo) ment relief. Criticism of the works coin mittee followed, and calls were made or an investigation to include lite engmec ing department. , . The clause was taken back by the c mittee that brought, it forward.
