MENDING TOWELS.
Towels can bo repaired almost invisibly if they aro Turkish or any other rough kind.
The middle of the towel generally gets a hole in first, and if you have several in the same state it is best to sacrifice one with which to mend the rest. Cut a piece in an uneven shape about two inches bigger all round than the worn part to be mended. Place over the hole without turning the edge in, machine close to the raw edge twice round, pnd then in zigzag lines at intervals all over the patch (or else quilt it) to keep it in place. Towels will have quite long lives after undergoing this treatment.
