SAVED BY PIGS.
On October 16, 1927, the steamer Kameruka, going from Eden to Sydney, struck on a reef. There -were no rockets on board by which a line could bo fired to the shore, but the captain bad the happy idea of tying lifelines to some pigs, -which formed part of the cargo, and tho animals were then put overboard. Tho pigs at once swani to tho shore, taking the lines with them, and communication between tho shore and tho vessel being thus established, every soul, on board was rescued by means of travelling cages. Thera wer® 60 passengers, including women and children, and these, as well as the crew, all came safely to land Well done, piggies! —Sent by Dcreen Cave.
