AN AT HOME.
Bowls of lovely daffodils and jonquils, arum lilies, pussy willow and snowflakes added grace and brightness to the Victoria League rooms yesterday afternoon when new members wero tho guests of the league at- a very enjoyable At Home. The steady growth of the organisation is shown by the fact that their number to date totals 131, although not all of them were present, and that of tho league itself is about 1342. Miss Mowbray, the president, cordially welcomed the guests of the afternoon and for their benefit briefly outlined the aims of the league and some of tho most outstanding of its activities. Special reference was made to the books for the backblocks section and to the work of the sewing circle, also to that of tho girls' commilteo in ils different phases, in social chat and tea tho time passed very pleasantly. The hostesses fur the afternoon were:— Mrs. Preston Chambers, Mrs. Gulliver, Mrs. Sinol, Miss ('. Murray, Miss Slat or. Miss Chalmers, Miss F. Murray, Miss O'Neal and Miss Gerrard.
