FIRE DRILL.
Sir, —I am not aware whether or not it is the rule that in all buildings where girls and men are employed periodical drill is given in the use of fire escapes, but I feel sure had those girls (who probably had never put a foot on one before) ever had even a couple of drills in their use, then, when such an emergency did arise, I am safe in saying a very different exit would have been made in place of the panic-stricken girls who were so suddenly called upon to use the fire escapes for the first time. Ex-Fireman.
