LABOUR CONFERENCES.
AUSTRALIAN DELEGATES. ATTENDANCE OPPOSED. LONDON. August 17. Mr. W. C. F. Thomas, Australian employers' delegato to tho International Labour Conference at Geneva, is conferring with Mr. Charles Crofts, Australian employees' delogate, as to the advisability of reporting upon the futility of Australia sending delegates to such conferences. Mr. Thomas says he realises that labour conditions in Australia aro so far ahead of those in other countries that Australia cannot consider uniform international labour codes without retrogression, which would be too ludicrous for serious consideration. He intends straightforwardly to inform the Government that the sending of Australian delegations is not warranted and is a mere waste of money.
