TRAIN STRIKES CHILD.

GRAVE INJURIES CAUSED.

ACCIDENT NEAR WELLINGTON. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. A child five years of age, Isabel Frances Orr, of Silverstream, was knocked down by a city-bound train at Silverstream at about 3.45 p.m. to-day. She received a fracture of the left arm and also suffered from concussion. The little girl was brought by the train to Lambton station and conveyed to the hospital by ambulance. A .report from the hospital late this evening stated, that her condition was serious, and that she had not regained consciousness.
