Questions concerning the annual regatta were considered at a special general meeting of the Regatta Club last evening. A motion was carried that * recommendation be submitted to the annual general meeting that a one-day regatta bo held on Boxing Day. It was decided that a recommendation be submitted to the annual meeting tlmt the regatta be held from the town and railway wharves. A committed was appointed to wait on the Borough Council, asking that various intersections in. Willow Street be closed on regatta day, and permission given to collect regatta admission charges at these intersections. The Tauranga Agricultural and Pastoral Association at a special general meeting decided to tako a vote of members as to whether futuro shows be held 011 tho present ground in Roberts Street or 011 tho Gato Pa racecourse, Tauranga. Tho Tauranga Fire Brigade has appointed Superintendent J. Padlie and Foreman A. Stewart as delegates to a meeting to be held at Whakatane next week, to consider matters associated with the Chilton Cup and Hawkins Memorial competitions.
