AUCKLAND MUSIC WEEK.

VARIETY OF PROGRAMMES. Arranged in order to stimulate interest in music played by "flesh and blood" artists and to awaken in children appreciation of music, Music Week, which commences in Auckland on Saturday, will be marked by a large variety of choral and orchestral concerts, to be given by most of the musical organisations in the city. In all 21 performances, including community singing, will be given, 16 at the Town Hall and five at the Lewis Eady Ilall. Among the entertainments to be given are a concert by the Leys Institute orchestra in the Town Hall on Saturday evening, preceding the grand concert by the- Municipal Choir, a recital of sacred music by tho chair and the city organist,, Mr. Maughan Harnett, on Sunday afternoon, and a band concert by the Municipal Band 011 Sunday evening. Community singing will be held every day in the Town Hall during the lunch hour. Later programmes will include entertainments by schools choirs, by the Piano Students Association, by the Chamber Music Society, and by a number of other musical societies and associations.
