OHAUPO RAILWAY STATION.

CHANGE TO LOWER GRADE.

LOCAL BODIES PROTEST. [by TELEGRAPH. —OWN correspondent.] TE AWAMUTU, Wednesday. It was stated at a meeting of tho Waipa County Council that it is intended to do away with a permanent official as stationmaster at the Ohaupo railway station, that official to be replaced by a porter and the station lowered in grade to a flag station. The council decided to enter a protest against the proposed action, as it would bo against the interests of a large body of settlers who regularly havo business with tho railway at Ohaupo. Other bodies aro making similar representations, and a petition is in circulation at Ohaupo giving support to the protests.
