ARRESTS AT DETROIT. CHICAGO BANDITS KILLED. (Received July 2S. 9.53 p.m.) NEW YORK. July '27. Sixty policemen at Detroit, armed with machine-guns, laid siege tor two hours to tin: hiding place of a S a "g 01 criminals and made important arrests. Unobserved by the intruders Sodo went outside to where he kept a sawn-off shotgun for such an emergency. When the robbers left hastily they weie met by a withering broadside and two were killed.
