DRAMATIC EVENING.
COLLEGE STUDENTS. Rocklands Hall was the scene of a very pleasant function on Friday evening, when the residential students of the Auckland Training College presented their annual dramatic evening*to aji appreciative audi ence. The guests were received in the entrance hall by Mrs. Aitchison, who wore black and gold georgette, and. by Miss Lorna Darragh (house captain), wearing a frock of blue floral ninon. The drawing room, which was also used as the stage, and the social hall were artistically decorated with bowls of golden daffodils and crimson foliage. The entertainment was opened by the singing of several glees, which were arranged and conducted bv Miss Margery Armour. Throe plays were presented. The first, " Iho Phoby," a. one-act play by Mcrdaunt Sharp, showed the influence a secret yet uncontrollable fear had on the life of an otherwise courageous young man. lni» was followed bv "The Sack, a faice y V M. MeihleV, which dealt with the humorous situation which arose when a young Office boy got ' the sack » n « JSr-'IS LS«d," g by PhHHP S&& « Sf in the last few seconds to bnng ' he to a happv conclusion. Mr. J. W. Shav gave a helpful and most interesting introduction before each play. While scenes were being changed items were "iven bv Miss Treacy Johnston (recitation) Miss Elsie McLaren (solo), and the Misses Wade. Wood and Lamason (vocal trio). At the close of the programme a supper was served, after which dancing took place by the younger people, thus bringing the evening to » happy conclusion,
