THE ALBANY ACCIDENT.
DEATH OF MRS. RALSTON
INJURED MAN'S CONDITION. The second death as a result of the motor accident on the bridge at Albany on Saturday night occurred in the Auckland Hospital last evening, the victim being Mrs. Catherine Maud Ralston, wife of Mr W. 11. Ralston, of Lake Road, Northcote. The accident occurred at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday, when a large car containing three occupants crashed through the railing of tho bridge and fell 50ft. into (lie bed of the creek. The driver, Mr. Ernest John Fraser, manager of the Waitemntri Bus and Transport Company, of Northcote, was killed, and Mjs. Ralston received injuries to the head, from which she died at 6.,35 last evening. Tiio third occupant of the. car, Mr. Clement Peters, of ■ Raleigh Road, Northcote, is still in tho Auckland Hospital and is in a serious condition. Mrs. Ralston leaves a family of four children, three girls and a boy, the eldest being .16 years of age. An inquest was opened by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday, into the death of Mr. Eraser. Formal evidence of identification was given by a brother, Mr. George Watson Fraser, and the inquest was then adjourned sine die.
