LONDON*. July 2fi. Mr. Jacobus tie Wet, a wealthy Sonth African visitor to London, was robbed of £9OOO by confidence tricksters, one of whom is said to be from New Zealand.
They met casually in the lounge of a hotel, where they described to Mr. do Wet an infallible betting system. Mr. de Wet handed Over the money, but later recognised the photographs of his * acquaintances at Scotland Yard in th» " rogues' gallery."
