MATERNITY NURSE FINED.
PREMISES AT OTOROIIANCA. [by telegraph.—own corukspondent.] HAMILTON. Fridny. A charge of conducting a private hospital, at Otorohanga, \viLliout a licence, was preferred against Mrs. S. G. Funncll in tho Hamilton Magistrate's Court to-day.
Ihe Crown solicitor, Mr. 11. T. Gillies, said the regulations requiied that a pi ivale hospital where thcie was more than one patient should he registered. The district health inspector had reported that ilrs- I'unncll s premises weic clean and tidv, hut the equipment was not sufficient for the number of patients treated. Mr. W. ,1. King said Mrs. Fun noli hn<i been a maternity nurse for about ten years and had dealt with over ZOO patients.
Jn imposing a fine of £5, with £3 13s costs, the magistrate, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, said the case was a serious one.
