The United States Senate to-day ratified tlie London Naval 'lreafy by 58 votes to 9. Previously it liad adopted a reservation proposed by Mr. (I. \V. Xorris, Republican member for Nebraska, stipulating that no approval should Ve given by the ratification to any secret agreement or understanding which might exist in relation to the pact. Several oilier reservations, including one proposed by Mr. Hiram \V. Johnson, Republican member for California, to permit the United States to construct either ei"ht. or six inch gun cruisers, regardless of t'ne limitations in the treaty, were rejected, the one named by 57 votes to 3. A two-thirds vote was necessary to carry the ratification. The vote came suddenly after the various reservations by opponents had been rejected by large majorities. BRITISH ESTIMATES.

When the Mouse of Commons was in Committee on the Naval Estimates, Commander J. M. Kenworthy, Labour member for Kingston-upon-Ilull, moved tluyr reduction. The amendment was defeated bv 239 votes to 27.
