Following are the acceptances for tho South Canterbury Hunt Club's annual race meeting on Saturday:—

GALLANT FOX'S WINNINGS.

OVER £50,000 IN FIVE RACES. The great three-year-old Gallant Fox is setting new records in American racing this season. Lori* Derby, who saw hint win the Kentucky Derby, sent the following cablegram to the owner after Gallant Fox had won tho Belmont Stakes 011 June 7:—" I nm deliphtcd about Gallant Fox. My most hearty congratulations on possessing a really good horse. Be is the only consistent three-year-old in any country. Have you not established a record in winning the Preakliess Stakes, Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes?" Tho following reply was sent to Lord Derby on behalf of Gallant Fox's owner, Mr. William Woodward, the New York banker:—" Gallant Fox is the first three-year-old to win consecutively in his only four starts, tho Wood Memorial, Preakness Stakes, Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes—America's real Derby. Ilis winnings amount to about £IO,OOO and lie has proved himself unquestionably the best [ ainco Man o' War. Both horses descended from Lexington."

Subsequently on July 12, Gallant Fos won the Arlington Special Classic, carrying I') 1,000 lidded money. Gallant Fox's total winnings for the Wood Memorial, Prcsikncss Stakes, Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes nnd (lie Arlington Special Classic would thus amount to over X'oU.OOO. Nono of these horses was nominated for tho Christchurch Hunt meeting, but T'opere, Appeal and 'lho Clsin figure in the list for the Grand National meeting. Topeie is destined to contest (he Winter Cup and will bo a starter in the Clareinont Handicap at the South Canterbury Hunt meeting on Saturday.
