Tlio potato market has cased since tlio week-end. On Friday, forward quotations were £5 to £5 5s f.0.h., s.i., for prompts and Julys, and £5 12s 6d to £5 15s for Aiigust-Septeinber deliveries. Yesterday prompts and Julys had fallen to £4 12s 6d a ton f.0.1)., s.i., Augusts to £5 2s 6d, and Septembers to £5 ss. This drop in the market is duo to weak holders sellin;;. To-day quotations are unaltered, hut August-Septembers cannot ho secured for £5 2s 6d, f.0.h., s.i. There are few orders coining to hand from Auckland or other ports. The next boat from Lyttelton is the Katoiii, which is duo to sail for Auckland on Friday. The, farmer is still a firm holder, the nominal value on trucks being, £3 10s to £3 15s. The oats market has also weakened as far as Southern quotations are concerned Locally the position is firm, and B grade Gallons lias'e been sold for Lyttelton uhipment at 4s. The Southern quotations to day are os 3d to 3s Ojid, f;o.h., s.i., for A griule (iartons for August delivery, and Ss f'iJjd tor P> grade. The chaff market is also a shade weaker, with few orders coming to hand. Chaff has been sold for prompt delivery at £6 17s 6d, f.0.h., s.i., equivalent to £-5 7s 6d on' trucks. Chaff for later delivery is hot, offering iji much quantity. Onions ai'u. worth £2 10s to £3 10s, according to the quality of the offering. A little business is being transacted in next, season's wheat, on the basis of 5s 5d to 5s 6d a bushel for Tuscan. Fowlwheat values remain firm at Oh, f.0.h., s.e., with a fair inquiry.
