Countering a fusillade of pistol bullets with his double-barrelled gun, Mr. William llolloway, garage proprietor, of Koscdale, Victoria, recently drove away four men, who, it is thought, intended to rob bis premises on the night of July 2. He replied bv firing at the legs of one man, who ho thought was wounded. The men tired furlhei shots, none of which took effect, and when Mr. Holloway fired again they turned and fled, disappearing into the forest country. Tho cai was found to contain a complete house-breaking and safe-blowing outfit, including detonators and gelignite.
