PRICES TO BE INCREASED.
PRODUCTION COSTS RISING

The Sydney Morning Herald, Daily Guardian and Telegraph i'iclorial individually announce that from August 4 the price of each newspaper will bo increased to lid. The evening newspapers, the Sun and Evening News, also announce an increase to Ud as from Adjust 4. The Sun says the ever-mounting costs of production, capped by the new taxation, ha\e made it impossible to publish a first-class daily newspappr for Id.
The price 01 the Sydney Sun and Evening News was raised to lid on April 7 last. bul. a week later the former juice of Id was reverted to. Sydney was the only city in Australia where Id newspapers were published.
