COALMINERS' DISPUTE.
PROVISIONAL SETTLEMENT. COST OF TRANSPORT TICKETS. [BY TKLvXIKAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HUNTLY, Monday. A dispute occurred at the Renown Collieries at the week-end. The contractor notified that I.is contract had nearly expired for carrying the miners to the mine at Waikokouai, and th'at forthwith he would charge 10s for the usnal sixret urn-trip ticket, as against 8s previously charged. The men agreed this morning to resume work pending further negotiations. A conference was held at W.nkokowai this afternoon- between the mining directors and tlie miners' representatives, and the men will also hold a meeting to-mor-row to discuss the proposals made by tin? contractor.
