FINANCES OF BOARD.
SURPLUS FOR PAST QUARTER
The Waitemata Electric-Power Board mot yesterday, the chairman, Mr. G. Trevithick, presiding. The income and expenditure account for the quarter ended June 30, submitted by the treasurer, Mr. A. Main, showed a surplus of £1156. Mr. Main said that under normal conditions of supply the ultimate financial operations for the year and any indicated surplus could usually be gauged from the first quarter's returns. Under the resent conditions, however, the board could only li'opo for the best in the future and appreciate the excellence of. the past quarter's revenue. The gross sales of current for the quarter amounted to £21,140, as compared with £18,403 for the samo period last year. The amounts for June, 1930, and June, 1929, were £9841 and £8919 respectively A total of 174 new consumers had been gained during the quarter, tho number for the. corresponding period last year being 230. The chairman and Mr. J. A. Algio were appointed delegates to the conference o[ local authorities convened by the City Council to discuss tho proposed establishment of a commercial air port in Auckland.
