DECREASE IN OPOSSUMS.
THE EGMONT RESERVE. A considerable decrease in (he opossums in the Egmont National Kescrvo was rev ported by the ranger at a meeting of the l'ar!; Board in New Plymouth last week, lie recommended that the board declare a close season next year. The opossums appeared to migrate, he said. Blocks on the rcscrvo which had been prolific in opossums last season had not given many this year; other blocks which had few last year were more prolific this year. The trappers roportod that, the skins were not up to standard.
