DEATH OF PEDESTRIAN.
THE NEW LYNN FATALITY.
An inquesi was opened by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday, intn the death of Mr. Jesse Mason, aged 66, who received fatal injuries in an accident on t-ha Great North Road at New Lynn on Saturday evening. About 6.30 p.m. lie was struck by the side-car of a motorcycle and it is believed' that while h* was lying unconscious on the road he was struck by a 'light motor-lorry. After evidence of identification had been given the inquest was adjourned.
Mr. Mason was admitted to the Auckland Hospital willi a compound fiaetura of 1110 skull, a compound fracture. of both logs and a broken arm. He died at 4.50 the following morning.
