TRAM EXTENSION.
MOUNT EDEN REQUEST.
A petition signed by 115 residents living beyond tho Mount Eden train terminus has been forwarded to the Auckland Transport Board asking tlitit in tho extension of tho tram lines to Mount Albert Road the present torminal section at Peucarrow Avenue should bo extended to a position in a lino from Halston Avenue, Dominion Road, thus forming one additional sestion instead of two, which is belioved to bo tho board's intention. It is stated that the present two sections from Symonds Street on the Mount Eden routo have always been considered shorter than tboso of othor linos, and it was only reasonablo that pooplo living on tho Mount Eden extension should bo treated in tho samo way as thoso on tho Dominion Road extension.
