DISASTROUS TYPHOON.

The most severe typhoon experienced for leu years lias swept Kyushu Island, Japan. Communications were broken. It is believed that tremendous damage was done and that there have been numerous deaths. The (vphoon passed over to Korea, where devastating floods continue. One village was buried under a landslide and 50 people were killed, adding to llio already enormous losses of life and property. Communications were later restored with Kyushu. Divergent reports assess the damage at between £5,000,000 and £10.000,000. .Among the towns Nagasaki was the heaviest sufferer. The crops, which promised bumper harvests, have been enormously damaged.
