REDRAFTING OF LAW. An address on matters nf interest, to accountants was given by Mr. J. L. Grillin, president of tlio New Zealand Society of Accountants, at a meeting of members of the Auckland l>rnnch last evening. The local chairman, Mr. F. 'J'. Eyre, presided over an attendance of 60. Dealing with the redrafting of the Companies Art, which is at present being carried out, Mr. Gridin said the committer) responsible' was composed of two representatives of the Law Society, two representatives of the Accountants' Society, two representatives of the Assn ciated Chambers of Commerce and two representatives of shareholders, who also happened to be members of the Accountants' Society. The work of redrafting was being actively carried on and it was expected that the amended Act would follow very closely the English legislation. Mr. Griffin deprecated the fact that the Government had not yet filled the seat on the Railway Commission vacated by Mr. G. W. Read, the representative of the Accountants' Society, who had been forced to resign through ill-health.
