ALTERATION OPPOSED. MID-CANTERBURY FARMERS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] ASH BURTON. Friday. The Mid-Canterbury executive of tho Farmers' Union lias passed a resolution protesting most emphatically against any interference with the existing duty on wheat. The resolution adds that a committee of the House of Representatives. after duo consideration, had eonio to the conclusion that the existing tariff should he retained and it asks that this be acted upon. a
