OUTBREAK OF FIRE.
FAMILY AWAY FROM HOME.
HOUSE AND CONTENTS BURNED.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DASGAVILLE. Friday.
A fire at mid-day to-day practically destroyed the home of Mrs. Alice Bird at Mangawhare. ■ Mrs. Bird had left home about half-ari-hour before the fire was discovered and is unable to account for the outbreak, as when she left everything appeared to be safe. No one was in the house at the time of the outbreak and as the nearest neighbour lives some distance awav the firo had attained a good hold before it was discovered. The brigade also was hampered by the distance it had to take tho hope from the fire plug, hut eventually subdued the fire, after practically all the contents of the house had been destroyed.
The loss will be a heavy one to the individual members of the family, as all their clothes and effects were either burned or ruined by water.
