AN IMMORTAL POET.
The two thousandth anniversary of Virgil's birth is being celebrated (his year, lie was born on October 15, B.C. 70, and on that day this year (ho Poetry Society will hold a hie meeting in his honour. The society will bo represented, too. at the celebrations in Italy. The Italian Ambassador has sent an invitation for members to participate in the festivals which will take plaroin Mantiia where Virgil was born, in Homo und in Naples where he died.
