LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.

A luncheon nnd afternoon, at which 65 p,embers ami visitors were present, was given yesterday by the Bclmont-Bavs water branch of the League of Mothers in St. Michael's Parish Hall at Belmont. The tables were decorated with a colour scheme of mauve and pink flowers, which was also carried out on the stage. Mrs. T. 11. Jones, president, introduced Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, provincial president, who spoke of the relationship of the Mothers' Union and the League of Mothers, which now worked side hv side for the same objects. Mrs. Mitchell also spoke of the valuable work which already had been done by the Overseas Committee recently formed in Auckland. Songs were sung during tho afternoon by Mrs. Blackwell and Mrs. Young and a recitation was given by Mrs. If. E. Burton. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies' committee. Five new members were enrolled. Among those present were, in addition to the Auckland provincial president, .Mrs. J. W.
