Takapuna Methodist Church in aid of church activities was given at the Gaiety Theatre at Takapuna last evening. Duncan Black, Afr. Percy Dellow and Air. G. A. Goodwin. Atr. Ewart Lyne was accompanist and Mr. C. Wood conducted the orchestra. The organiser was Air. Frank Sutherland. The club room of the Druids' Hall, Newton, presented a very gay appearance on Tuesday evening when the Thames Girls' Club held their monthly meeting. The president, Airs. P. McGregor, was in the chair. A very enjoyable musical programme was contributed by Airs. Snowling, Aliss Jew, Aliss Grib'blc, Aliss Andrews, Miss Betty ThorLurn, Mr. Forghaw and Alaster Nieholls. the prize winners of the evening were:—Airs. Gillespie, Mrs. AlcGregor, Mrs. Snowling, Mrs. Gribble, Mrs. Nieholls and Mr. Land. Supper was served by the committee. The Eden branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union met in the Alethodist schoolroom, Dominion Road, on Wednesday afternoon, Airs. Ilayr presiding. A letter was received from Airs. Ruby Watson, stressing the need for an open market. Ihe Dominion presidents letter concerning matters of organisation was again before the meeting and the delegate's report on the last meeting of the National Council of Women was given. Interesting experiences were related by some of those present, who had assisted in conducting the, temperance stall at the, Winter Show. Two new members were gained.
