WHAKATANE WINTER SHOW

A SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWi\" CORRESPONDENT.] WHAKATANE. Thursday. The annual meeting of members of tho Bay of FJerity Winter Show Association was held last evening, Mr. W. Sullivan presiding. In his annual report tho chairman said tho show held in May was an exceptionally good one, especiallj- in tho agricultural section The entries for tho show totalled 1800, an increase of over 400 on tho previous year's total. Tljo profit from tho show was £SO. It probably would liavo been larger but for tho fact that tho Whakatano fixtures clashed with tho Whangarei Winter Show. Stops had been taken to communicate with tho Whangarei Association with the object of preventing further clashing. New arrangements would have to bo made next year for tho housing of motor exhibits and for the poultry section, tho accommodation available having proved inadequate. Tho report and balance-sheet wero adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: —Patron, Mr. K. S. Williams, MP.; president, Mr. W. Sullivan; vice-president, Mr. F. B. Cutler; lion, treasurer, Mr. J. M. Ilobin; executive committee, Messrs. 11. G. Rand, R. W. Schofield, E. W. Beckett, and H. J. S. Johnson.
