WOMEN'S DIVISION.
THE FARMERS' UNION.
The To Awamutu'Women's Division of tho New Zealand Farmers' Union met on Thursday in tho Parish Hall. Tho president, Mrs. J. G. Wynyard, was in the chair. A report was read detailing the Dominion president's recent tour through Taranaki when new branches were formed and existing branches visited. The ideals, aims and objects of the division, especially in the direction of helping country woidcn by finding nurses and housekeepers for them in their time of need were also outlined. Tho secretary, Miss Eyre, reported upon the result of the division's effort at the Winter Show. Altogether £ll was realised, and a vol a of thanks was passed to all members who assisted, a special vote of thanks being passed to Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Macky. Mr. M. 11. Williams gave a short lee ture and demonstration upon pruning. He spoko of tho pruning of apples, peaches, plums, pears, hedges and conifers, and advised members to prune certain annuals. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Williams.
