MOTORING FATALITY.

AGED PASSENGER KILLED. CAPSIZE OF VEHICLE. ACCIDENT IN OTAGO. [I,T telegraph.—own correspondent.] DUNEDIN, Sunday. While travelling by motor-car to Timaru vesterday morning Mr. James Williamson, aged 72, of St. Leonard's, was killed through the vehicle overturning about two miles north of Waikouaiti. The car, which was driven by Mr. James Duncan Cameron, is stated to have swerved in somo loose gravel and to have overturned after one of the back wheels came off. Mr. Williamson was killed almost instantaneously. There were four passengers in the car, but nobody else was seriously injured. Mr. Williamson was a member of the Dunedin Bowling Club and of the Orphans' Club. He was one of a party of Orphans' Club members who were paying a biennial visit to Timaru. He was a retired Government marine surveyor and was for many years an inspector, of macliinery. He is survived by a widow, one son, resident in New South Wales, and one daughter. - ■ , v:.

COLLISION WITH LORRY.. MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Sunday. A fracture of the leg, a scalp-wound and abrasions were received by Allan Taylor, aged 15, son of Mr. N." K. Taylor, of Gordonton, as a result of a collision between a motor-cycle he was riding and a motor-lorry at the corner of Riro Street and River Road, Claudelands, yesterday morning. Taylor was removed to the Waikato Hospital. His condition is not serious. MISHAP TO FIRE ENGINE. MEN ESCAPE INJURY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] •' CHfIISTCHURCH, Sunday. A fire engine proceeding to an outbreak of fire at Linwood yesterday met with an accident at the intersection of. Fitzgerald Avenue and Armagh Street. One wheel of tho engine ran into a deep gutter, and the machine swung round and crashed through x an iron fence. One of the firemen was thrown to the road, but none of them were injured. The windscreen of tho engine was smashed.
