PHILISTINES CLUB.
BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT. Tho Amateur Operatic Hall was artistically decorated with multi-coloured streamers on Saturday when tho Philistines Club held a very successful evening. Mr. and Mi's. F. J. Hutchinson wero host and hostess. An excellent programmo had been arranged, which was much enjoyed by tho largo number of members and friends present. Tho items consisted of a "hula hula" dance by Mr. Mitchell, a song by Mrs. Lan Simpson with a chorus sung by the "Snappy Four," a violin solo by Mr. Haydn Murray, a duct by Mr. and Mrs. Asquith, an elocutionary item by Mr. HWard, a song by Miss Doreen D'Autlircau, conjuring tricks by Mr. Axford, humorous sketches by Miss Edna Thomas, and songs by Mr. J. E. Snell. After tho programme, supper was served, following which danciug bronght a very enjoyable evening to a close.
