Symon, director of artillery, attended. Colonel R. G. Milligan, who presided, said it was tho aim of the committee of the association to hold meotings of artillerymen and maintain the bond of comradeship which existed among all who served as artillerymen in tho forces of tho Empire. It was desired' that tho members should become interested in each other's ' welfare and that practical aid should be given to the less fortunate. The chairman called tho roll of units and a silent toast to fallen comrades was honoured. Proposing tho toast of "Tho Regiment," Lieutenant-Colonel E. H. Northcroft roferred to the history of tho Royal Regiment of Artillery, with which tho New Zealand Field Artillery was allied. Ho said members would be awaro of tho proposed "cut" in tho defence vote. It rested with them to seo that tho efficiency ok tho artillery units did not suffer. It was most necessary that there should be highly-trained and efficient non-commis-sioned officers ready for future service. Tho Artillery Band played several numbers and several musical and humorous items were given.
