JAPANESE PRINCE.

VISITOR TO LONDON. RECEPTION BY THE KING. (Received June 27, 7.,'t p.m.) British Wireless. RUGBY, June 26. Prince Takamatsu, the second brother of the Emperor of Japan, accompanied by Princess Takamatsu, arrived in London this afternoon on a State visit to King George and Queen Mary. The Prince has brought with him the Order of the Rising Sun of Japan to present to the King. Last year tile Duke of Gloucester, the King's third son, visited Japan and invested the Emperor with the Order of the Garter. His Royal Highness had a great reception from the Japanese Royal Family and the Japanese people, and every effort is now being made to accord Prince and Princess Takamatsu a verv cordial welcome to Britain.

As the Royal visitors reached Dover Harbour in the steamer Maid of Crete a salute was fired by the guns of the coast batteries and aeroplanes circled overhead. The Duke of Gloucester boarded the vessel and welcomed the Prince and Princess on behalf of the King and Queen.

A naval guard of honour was mounted on the pier anil was inspected by the Prince. An address was presented by the Mayor of Dover. At Victoria Station, London, tho Prince and Princess were met by the Duke of York, Princess Mary, tho Prime Minister, Mr. Mac Donald, tho Foreign Secretary, Mr. Arthur Henderson, and tho Home Secretary, Mr. J. R. Clvnes.

A largo crowd gathered outside tho station and cheered the visitors as they drove in a State- carriage, escorted by Life Guards, to Buckingham Palace, where they were received by the Iving and tho Queen. The Royal visitors will be the guests of the King and Queen until Saturday, after which they will stay at Claridge's Hotel ns guests of the Government until their departure on July 10.
