All the Australians have been beaten. •Andrews (New Zealand) beat Greig (Britain), 6—5, 7—5, 6—2; Austin (Britain) beat Landry (France); in three straight, sets; Cocnet (France) beat Bell (America) in five sets; Tilden (America) beat Van Eyn (America) in three straight sets; Perry (Britain) beat de Morpurgo (Italy) in five sets; Doeg (America) beat Boussub (Franca) in five sets.
