BASE RECORDS OFFICE.
CHANGE IN CONTROL. DEFENCE FORCE ECONOMY. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. " Owing to a drastic cut in the defence estimates a change is being made regarding the Base Records Office. From tomorrow it will cease to exist as a separate unit and will be controlled by one of the defence branches," stated the officer in charge of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force Base Records Office, Mr. C. H. Clemens, in a letter received by the War Relief Association of Wellington today. " Before relinquishing toy position as officer-in-cliarge," wrote Mr. Clemens, "I desire to thank you and your association for the many courtesies received. It has been my privilege to bring under your notice several cases of need and I have invariably found that your association has not only done what I deemed it should do, but it has done much more than I hoped."
