BADMINTON.
NEW ASSOCIATION FORMED. INTER-CLUB COMPETITION. An enthusiastic meeting of delegates to the various Badminton Clubs in Auckland decided last evening to form an absociation for tho control of the tfamo in the province subject to tho approval ot tho Now Zealand Association. .Mr. R. R, Bell presided and there was an attendance of about 20 delegates. It was decided to submit copies of tho rules to delegates, who will meet again next Thursday Tho appointmeut of iv management committee was deferred until the next meetiug. Subject to tho hall being availablo it wait rlecided to hold tho provincial championships on August M, 15 and IG. On tho motion of Mr Macfarluno ;t was decided that clubs bo divided into zonos for tho purposes of an intor-elub competition, that teams consist of four ladiea and lour men, and that four men's doubles. *. ol| r ladies' doubles and four combined doubles bo played. In tho various zonos the competition will be a play-all one with tho winners playing olf. An interchange of members on in tor-club nights will bo mado by tho cluba engaged. THE MANOERE CLUB. An American combined doubles handicap competition was concluded by members of tho Mangero Badminton Club. The* winners were R Pheasant and Miss J Pheasant with 171 points, and L. Kay and Miss R Reeves vvero rumters-up with ICO points
