TOTALISATOR BETTING.

SMALL DECREASE SHOWN. FIGURES FOR THE SEASON. The totalisator investments at both racing and trotting meetings in the Auckland province for tho 1929-30 season, which ended with the conclusion of the Auckland Trotting Club - s 'Winter Meeting at Alexandra Park yesterday, show a decrease of £23,660 103 compaied with tho figures for 1928-29.

The total investments for the season amounted to £2,303,220 compared with £2,326,885 10s in the previous season. Racing was responsible for the greater part of the season's totals £1,737,367 10s being invested in bets at those meetings. There was a decline of £17,049 in the betting at racing club meetings, compared with the previous season. This was duo to a heavy falling-off in the receipts at country club meetings.

x\s regards trotting, the city clubs' turnover was below that of last year, while tho country clubs' receipts wero slightly in advance. The total amount of betting at trotting meetings throughout the province for the season was £565,852 10s, as against £572,169, a decrease of £6316 10s. Tho decrease in totalisator receipts at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting just concluded was £9184 10s. At the corresponding meeting last year nn increase over tho previous season of £Bl A) 10s was recorded.
