CLOSING OF SCHOOL.
PROTEST BY PARENTS. [EY TELEGRAPH. —OWM CORRESPONDENT.] TE Alton A, Monday. Tho decision of tho Auckland Education Board to closo tho Mangaiti School this week was the subject of a deputation to Mr. C. 13. Macmillan, M.P. for Tauranga, this evening. The deputation was headed by Messrs. W. Mace, T. Mines and W. Stevenson, who presented a petition protesting against tho closing of tin school on the ground that hardship would bo imposed on many children. It was stated that many scholars would bo quite unable to travel to To Aroha for schooling. The board's decision was occasioned by ;i depleted attendance of pupils.
